The People in The Pictures

Led by Save the Children UK with Oral Testimony Works this pioneering research, for the first time, brings the voices of the people in the pictures to the long-running discussion around NGO imagery.  Debates about the visual representations of global poverty have been going on for many years, yet the experiences and views of those featured have been notably absent. The People in the Pictures is a 4 country research project that aimed to find out how those who contribute their images and stories, and members of their communities, feel about their portrayal and the image-making process.

I was proud to input to this research as an external academic reader and contributor to the final research publications.
